Meet Our Team

Lee Dew, Vice President

Lee joined Pioneer Roofing Company in 1978 and has 32 years project management experience in new construction and retrofit roofing and waterproofing projects. In addition to estimating, sales, and project management for all types of commercial, institutional and industrial roofing and waterproofing, Lee’s current duties include administrative activities related to the day-to-day operation of the company. He served on the Board of Directors for and is a Past President of The Arizona Roofing Contractors Association. He holds an Associate of Arts degree from Glendale Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University. Lee is married with three children and two grandchildren. Lee’s interests include ASU Sun Devil Football and Phoenix Coyotes Hockey.

Robert Beebe, Chief Estimator/Project Manager

Bob has been with Pioneer Roofing since 1982 and is responsible for overseeing the estimating department as well as bidding projects. Bob’s main focus is on commercial work, specializing in health care institutions and educational facilities. Prior to his arrival at Pioneer Roofing Co., Bob worked as a union roofer in Detroit, Michigan for 12 years, beginning as a laborer and rising to superintendent. He attended college in Michigan studying business, architecture, and drafting. Married for 38 years, he has four children and five grandchildren, which are his pride and joy and number one priority. Bob is also a United States Army veteran and served in Vietnam. In his free time, Bob enjoys hunting, traveling, scuba diving, and cheering for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Darcy Gibbons, Estimator

Darcy joined Pioneer Roofing Co. in 2011 as Estimator and brings over 20 years of construction experience  in both the commercial and residential construction fields.  Prior to joining the Pioneer Roofing team, Darcy worked as a Construction Superintendent for commercial and residential construction projects throughout the United States, as well as the Phoenix Metro area.  Darcy is married, has three children and one grandchild.  In his free time, Darcy enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and supporting the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Ronald Gibbons, Project Manager

Ron joined Pioneer Roofing Co. in 2009 and brings over 26 years of experience in the roofing industry.  Ron is responsible for the project management of commercial roofing projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, conducting pre-roofing meetings, coordinating with the project superintendent, purchasing, and project close-out.  Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Project Management degree from the University of Phoenix.  Prior to his work in the roofing industry, Ron served six years in the United States Army in Personnel Management.  Ron is married, has two children, and in his free time competes in marathons and triathlons.  Ron is an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Phoenix Coyotes.

April Wilson, Controller

April has been with Pioneer Roofing Co. since 1999 and has over 20 years of accounting experience in the construction industry. April is responsible for performing all of our accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and company payroll. April holds an Associates Degree in Accounting from Mesa Community College. April serves on the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association Youth-At-Risk bowling committee and is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

Erica Ayala, Administrative Assistant

Erica has been with Pioneer Roofing Co. since 2001. Erica’s responsibilities include answering the phones, writing up service work orders, job tracking, data input, processing new hire paperwork, Service Department invoicing, and assisting our project managers any way she can. Being bilingual, Erica provides assistance to our Spanish-speaking employees. Erica takes pride in her job where she gets to demonstrate daily Pioneer Roofing Co.’s high level of customer service, integrity, and ethical standards.
In her off time, Erica enjoys going to the movies, and spending time with family and friends.

John Spruill, Superintendent

John has been part of the Pioneer Roofing Co. family since 1982. Originally from Boston, John moved to Phoenix in 1977 and shortly thereafter began his career in roofing. Since 1995, John has been Pioneer’s superintendent where his responsibilities include field personnel management, overseeing all projects in the field, interfacing with general contractor superintendents and owner representatives, and supervising the operations team at Pioneer. John is married with one son and two grandchildren. In his free time, John enjoys hunting, fishing, and attending Phoenix Coyotes hockey games.

Gregg Hearns, Safety Director and Assistant Superintendent

Originally from Southern California, Gregg has been with Pioneer Roofing Co. since 1997 where he began as a built-up roofing crew member.  Gregg was promoted to job foreman where he was responsible for the day to day activities and general well-being of his crew. 

In 2006, Gregg was promoted to Assistant Superintendent, where his responsibilities include tracking job progress in the field, project quality control, and assisting the superintendent with his day to day activities.  In his capacity as Safety Director, Gregg makes it his mission to stay abreast of all OSHA safety requirements and risk management issues to insure the health of our employees and the safety of our jobsites. 

His responsibilities include project safety planning and implementation, conducting jobsite safety visits, scheduling employee safety training, and ordering/maintaining our company safety equipment.  Gregg has attended numerous OSHA safety courses and is a qualified forklift trainer and certified roofing torch trainer. 

In his free time, Gregg enjoys spending time with his three children, shooting pool, fishing, and watching his beloved Oakland Raiders.
